To Catch a Thief is definitely a veg-out Hitchcock film; no doubt about it. A lot of people like it; it’s one of his better known films, but personally I have never really cared for it. I promise to try to go easy on it, but I’m not sure how well that’s going to go.
John “The Cat” Robie (Cary Grant) is a former jewel thief enjoying his retirement on the French Rivera. Unfortunately for him, another thief is going around robbing people just as Robie used to. When the police bear down Robie has no choice but to catch the other thief that is imitating him.
