In honor of Veterans Day, I thought it appropriate to pay tribute to the men and women who sacrifice daily for the freedom that we enjoy. A special thank you to my grandfather, uncles, aunts and cousins who I’ve personally witnessed dedicate their lives to service.

Now let’s talk about fashion! I remember as a young girl, we were obsessed with what we then called “Jodeci boots,” which were actuallynothing more than just army boots. I recall begging my mom to take me to an army store downtown by the name of Bennett’s, to purchase them. The obsession with camouflage, has been around for a long time. Just like then, camo is still everywhere today. It often times functions almost as a neutral, allowing you to pair it with dark and neutral colors, neon’s, as well as pastels.

Today’s blog post is going to be quite short, as I will only list 10 books that in my opinion every person interested in fashion should read. This will not include coffee table books, which I will cover in a later blogpost.

I intentionally didn’t put them in a specific order, as I didn’t read some of them either yet and will let you make your own opinion about whether some are better than others.

GIVENCHY UTILIZES OVERSIZED BRANDING ON NEW SNEAKERS

French luxury fashion house Givenchy has rolled out a pair of sneakers that features oversized branding and midfoot straps. The large branding feature is found on a runner and tennis sneaker silhouette that does away with laces en lieu of the midfoot straps. The running shoe also features embossed dots on the midsole and an orange tongue tag. Both pairs are currently available via Givenchy’s website and retail for $595 USD and $735 USD for the sneaker and the runner respectively.
